Gardening with a Purpose - The Top Gardening Trend of 2011 According to national studies,vegetable gardening is up almost 20 percent and community gardens up 60 percent over last year. Farmers markets and CSA's are up 60 percent. A recent survey by the Garden Writers Association found about 16 percent more American households planned to add a vegetable garden this year and an additional 12 percent planned on adding an herb garden. Obviously, across the country, growing food for the table has become an increasingly important priority. How about you?
