Sue Ferrante

Sue is our Perennial Specialist, but during the winter she's busy assisting customers, caring for the plants in the greenhouse, doing floral design, and helping with workshops.

Sue's no stranger to our kind of business. Following two years of wildlife management, Sue decided she was more interested in managing plants and flowers and working with people. Starting in 1990, she worked in a nursery and garden center and then, in 1996, she opened Little Tree Farm ("Where dreams are cultivated") in North Kingstown, R.I. For 12 years, Sue specialized in shrubs, perennials, annuals, houseplants, florals, statuary, pottery, and garden gifts.

While she was there, she did a TV show, "In the Garden"; ran numerous workshops and garden talks; and received awards for garden design at the Rhode Island Flower Show for several years. She's a member of the Wild Plant Society and the Rhode Island Farm Bureau, and she's a Master Gardener. Sue also works as a wedding and special occasion florist and does garden design, installation, and maintenance.
