Frequently
Asked
Questions
How do I prepare my beds for annuals and perennials?
You should always start with fresh soil in your beds.  A good choice for ammending previously used (and new) beds is an organic soil builder, such as Bumper Crop.
How can I keep my annuals blooming for as long as possible?
"Dead-heading" (cutting back the flower and stem after a bloom or infloresence has passed) will help more bloosems come. Using a bloom-boaster fertilizer will also increase the yeild and life of your flowering annuals.
What annuals and perennials will work for my area?

When should I cut back my perennials?
  General Guidelines:
Spring blooming can be cut back after flowers have passed
Fall blooming should be cut in the Spring.
However, a lot of perennials require specific cutting times, so be sure to see our  perennial specialists for specifics.
Why are the leaves turning yellow?
An inconsistant watering schedule may be stressing your plants. Try to be more consistant.  Also watch for over watering. If your plants seem to always be wet and never get dry, then you should cut back. Give us a call or come on down and we'll be able to help you for sure.
Why did the edges of my leaves turn brown?
This may mean that the plant suffered a period of drought or may have been over-fertilized. If neither of these seems the case, bring us an example of the problem and we'll help pinpoint the cause.
